The Ensemble of Contemporary Music EMC of the Conservatory of Music of Palermo was founded in 2013 from a need of the School of Composition for the diffusion and execution of Contemporary Music, including works composed by its young students.

The Ensemble has participated in prestigious events (Gibellina Festival, New Music Week, Rostrum of Composers …) collaborating with various city institutions (Teatro Massimo, Academy of Fine Arts, University of Robotics Engineering, etc.)

The concert was held at the prestigious Teatro Massimo on Wednesday 25 October 2017.

Directed by Fabio Correnti, the concert program presents, in addition to the two compositions by Sørensen and Kerkelov, two works winners of the International Rostrum of composers, five new works by students selected by the artistic director of BOZAR-Centre for Fine Arts, Ulrich Hauschild that will be performed at the Bozar in Brussels next November.
