We are pleased to announce that the 71st International Rostrum of Composers (IRC) will be held May 13 – 16 2025, in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The IRC will be organised for the first time ever in Slovenia thanks to the cooperation with Radio Slovenia Channel 3 – Programme Ars.

As is IRC tradition, delegates will have the opportunity to network and have an insight into the local cultural scene through a rich side programme which will include, among others, the traditional interview with the composer in cooperation with the Ljubljana Academy of Music, a special presentation in the framework of the 80th anniversary of the Slovenian Composers’ Society and concerts by Slovenian Philharmonic and RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra.

To make it even more rich, this edition will feature a special concert of the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra, a project of our partner, the EBU – European Broadcasting Union, which celebrates its 60th anniversary.

Listening sessions will be held at Cankarjev dom, the heart of Slovenian cultural life.

After more than seven decades, the IRC continues to be the most important platform for exchanging contemporary music through radio broadcasting and a major opportunity for professional development and exchange between radio producers and presenters.

More than 30 national radios from all over the world regularly participate and exchange recent contemporary music productions. In the last two editions only, some 100 works by emerging composers have been presented and then broadcast by participating radios more than 2000 times.

In addition to the unique exposure generate by broadcast, selected composers are offered additional opportunities, prizes and commissions.
