Along with the two co-commissions, the selected composers of the International Rostrum of Composers will receive an even more special prize.
A result of the collaboration between the International Music Council and Italian architect Matteo Baldassari, Frozen, encrypted sound is an innovative way to transform sound waves into a physical sculpture. Every year, the winners of the International Rostrum of Composers receive their own music transformed into a unique artwork.
The sculpture has been created by a generative algorithm able to transform sound frequencies into a geometry along the time span of a musical composition.
Afterwards, the digital model was translated into a Gcode and 3dprinted.
