Dear representatives of broadcasting organizations,

We are pleased to inform you that the 68^th International Rostrum of Composers (IRC) will be held May 31 – June 3, 2022 in Palermo, Italy.

The IRC will travel for the second time to the Sicilian capital thanks to the invitation of our longstanding partner, the Conservatorio Alessandro Scarlatti.

In order to set a convivial ambiance for listening sessions, a welcome reception will be organized in the evening of the 30^th of May.

As is IRC tradition, the 68^th edition will also give the delegates the opportunity to network and have an insight into the local vibrant cultural scene through a rich side programme organized by our hosts.

For almost seven decades, the IRC has been the most important platform for exchanging contemporary music through radio broadcasting. It is also a major opportunity for professional development and exchange between radio producers and presenters.

More than 30 national radios from all over the world regularly participate and exchange their contemporary music productions and – just to give you an idea – for the last two editions only, some 100 recent works have been presented and then broadcast by participating radios more than 2000 times!

In addition, composers selected in the General and the Under-30 categories will benefit from a special IRC Commission supported by our partners RTP – Radio Television Portugal and SR – Swedish Broadcasting Corporation.

After two years of global sanitary crisis and the consequent turmoil in the music ecosystem, the role of IRC in supporting and promoting contemporary music is now more needed than ever and we count (once again) on your participation.
